Chesapeake Bay Hockey League

The Chesapeake Bay Hockey League (formerly the Capital Beltway Hockey League) is a minor hockey league sanctioned by USA Hockey, and a member of the Southeastern Amateur Hockey Association (SEAHA), an affiliate within the Southeast District of USA Hockey. The league consists of one Tier I club and seventeen Tier II clubs located throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.[1]

Mission

The objectives of the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League are to provide an opportunity for young men and women to participate in amateur ice hockey in an organized and competitive environment, to foster player development both physically and academically, and to provide opportunities for personal growth and enrichment.[2]

Valley Forge Spirit of 76 Tournament (pre 2/24): Fairfax Squirts finished second, beating Valley Forge 2-1, tying Ithaca 3-3, and losing to the Cherry Hill Gladiators 9-1. The Pee Wees finished third, beating Valley Forge 4-2, and losing to the Capital Boys 6-0 and Bergen 9-2. 1981-82

The Fairfax Midgets won the CBHL playoff championship with a 5-1 win over Benfield.

1982-83

The Fairfax High School team won the Easton Christmas Hockey Tournament, defeating the Mt. Vernon Hockey Club 7-6 and St. Mark's High School from Wilmington, DE, 12-0. They also swept a two-game series from York to finish the first half of the season 19-4-2.

On 1/26, it was reported that the club had recently defeated State College twice and Easton 15-0. As of 2/9, they were 26-5-2 (5-4-1 in CBHL, and 12-0-0 in the Keystone Hockey League), with two recent wins over Lancaster. They finished their season by winning the Northern Virginia Invitational Hockey Tournament, defeating Bear Mountain 6-1 and the Nassau Arrows 2-1. Fairfax finished the season 37-8-5, with four championships to their credit.

The Mount Vernon Minutemen won the CBHL regular season championship at the Junior A level.

Baltimore won the Wintersport Spring Tournament, played in Willow Grove, PA, from March 22-24. They defeated Pottstown, East Windsor, and the Wintersport Royals to claim the Midget B title. The team finished 32-24-9 on the season.
